Loretta is an English play set in the 1970s on a river island in Goa. The story revolves around widower Antonio Piedade Moraes, a bhatkaar (landlord), who lives a rather comfortable life in his resplendent home. He lives surrounded by bakers, gardeners, a Man Friday and a whole lot of others. Antonio, a great votary of the Konkani language, is rather protective of his island.
The peaceful tale takes a twist when his son Rafael returns from Mumbai with his Anglo–Indian girlfriend Loretta, after completing his education. While the son doesn’t share the same love for the city as his father, his girlfriend understands the need to be close to one’s roots. Watch the play to see how she changes her Rafael’s heart.
