Figure IT, a group show of figurative paintings by the renowned artists from India. The figurative art is basically on cave walls or papyrus scrolls and silk screens, canvas and paper. The exhibition will have art works of the following 8 artists:
A.V.Ilango
Bangalore based artist usually has Krishna theme in his paintings, either with his beloved, Radha, or as the celestial cowherd playing his magical flute .Using bold colors, applied with a palette knife, Ilango creates his works in strong strokes on canvas.
Ajay De
The artist is known for his charcoal paintings with a hint of acrylic and gold leaf .He started with his works of the iconic Kolkatta cycle rickshaws, and has now moved to the ethereal Buddha’s and Ganesha figures.
Gautam Mukherjee
In this exhibition, the artist is inspired by the Saytajit Ray film Charulata , which is based on a Rabindranath Tagore novella . Using acrylic paint on canvas, Gautam#39;s form is highly appreciated.
Laxman Aeley
The artist depicts the people from the small towns of Telangana, using black acrylic paint, applied with a very fine brush on canvas.
Ramesh Gorjala
Inspired by the traditional figures from the Hindu mythology, Ramesh interposes the paintings with the contemporary lines and the Kalamkari style.
Samir Mondala
The artist only works with watercolors on paper. His paintings are a master in this medium.
Satya Narayan Moti Lal Karan
Using the traditional style of Mithila paintings on handmade paper, the pigments are made from petals and leaves that are not plucked, cut, bought or edible , but are collected from garden, temple and florists waste and applied using a single broomstick.
Sachin Jaltare
The artist has found a distinctive style of painting using acrylic and gold leaf on canvas.
