The enhibition constitutes three bodies of works. The first is a collaboration between Gauri Gill and Warli painter Rajesh Vangad, a new set of photo-paintings from the series ‘Fields of Sight’, photographing the landscape of an Adivasi village in coastal Maharashtra. The second is her ongoing archive of images from rural Rajasthan, framing the corporeal absence of humans themselves. The third body of work is titled ‘The Mark on the Wall’. Gill documents drawings made by local artists of Western Rajasthan, revealing the glimpses of the collective mind of a rural community.
Gauri Gill is a graduate from Delhi College of Arts, Delhi and has had her photographs in Delhi, London, Toronto and Philadelphia among others.
